On Saturday, in Ottawa, Capital City Championship Combat Wrestling presents Level Up 2011 featuring NWA World Heavyweight Wrestling Champion Colt Cabana.

The best thing for local wrestling promoters is that they had no idea when they booked Colt Cabana that he was about to become the champion and defender of wrestling's oldest continuously defended title belt. It's lightning in a bottle for promoters and an amazing opportunity for the wrestlers who get to face him in the ring.

On Sunday afternoon, Colt is making an appearance for a promotion less well-known outside Quebec, CRW. Inside Quebec, it is best known for being essentially Sylvan Grenier's home promotion. Grenier used to promote a fed called T.O.W. but that fed has been defunct for several months. T.O.W.'s strategy was built around holding a few shows per year, with each one held in an arena with special guest stars.

CRW's much smarter strategy is to hold more frequent smaller shows. They took good promotional advantage from the T.O.W. shows when they were being held. It sometimes seemed like the T.O.W. ownership were either losing money or barely breaking even just to advertise CRW's shows.

Here is what they are presenting:

CRW
Colt Cabana Live
Sunday, March 27th, 2011
Centre CRW 4372 Boul. Des Grandes Prairies, Montreal, Quebec, Canada
VIP Front row: 15$ - VIP Second row: 12$ - General Admission: 10$

The Sunny War Cloud sez Noone Ever Really Retires From Wrestling:
Chris Cruze vs. Alextreme

The Number One Contender's Match But Only If Dru Onyx Wins Match:
Dru Onyx vs. Sylvain Grenier

The Pat Skillz Has a Death Wish Match:
Pat Skillz vs.  “Mr. Wrestling” Kevin Steen

The Montreal Crowds Like to Yell OLE! Match:
Thomas "The Pipes" Dubois vs. El Generico

CRW Quebec Championship Match:
CRW Quebec Champion Mathieu St-Jacques vs. Sexxxy Eddy

NWA World Heavyweight Championship Match:

"For James" an IWS Extreme Wrestling Charity Bash

For James an IWS Extreme Wrestling Charity Bash

It has only been a few months since we held the Last International Wrestling Syndicate Show EVER! and we are holding another show. Holy Ric Flair! Even by the standards of wrestling retirements that was quick right?

Well, don't call it a come-back. We have no intention of running shows, but when we found out that James Bryant (the son of a friend of ours) had leukemia, we couldn't stand by and do nothing. So we decided to help the only way that we knew how: by lacing back on our boots and inviting our fans and friends to come watch us destroy each other in the ring the way that only the IWS can..

So on Friday, March 25th we are getting together at the Royal Canadian Legion Hall in Deux-Montanges, at 141 rue de la Legion for a charity wrestling gala. The doors open at 7:30 PM and the show starts at 8:30 PM. Tickets are $20 in adavance and at the door and all profits from the show go to James Bryant and his family.

This will be an ALL AGES Show! (After all the guest of honour is under 18!)

I should have the full card next week, but I can announce that "Iron" Mike Paterson will be announcing the show as only he can.

If you would like to buy tickets in advance or can't go to the show but would like to donate, please click the donate button below and GIVE 'TIL IT HURTS!

You can pick the amount you give but if you want tickets you must give $20 per ticket that you want. You can also come by my office to pick up tickets for the show.

As a special bonus to encourage your charity, anyone who gives at least $20 can buy any IWS DVD that I have left for $10.00. E-Mail me a list of what DVDs that you want: Llakor@hotmail.com

Here is the poster for the show:

International Wrestling Syndicate: Last Show Ever! TODAY! Club Soda/Montreal

I saw my first IWS show in 2001 and it made such an impression that I wrote 10, 000 words about it. To give you an idea how accurate a wrestling reporter I was, I identified the IWS DJ as a girl when it was really an Italian with long hair (DJ Stab Tony).

I started writing FOR the IWS in January 2003. It's been quite a ride for 7 years.

I have been time-keeper, publicist, writer, camera-man, commentator and ring announcer. I rang the bell at ECW Arena. I helped Sid Vicious paint a midget. I have talked backstage with PCO, Chris Daniels, Christian, Sabu, Mike Quackenbush, Larry Sweeney, Eddie Kingston, the Dudleys and Kevin Nash amongst many others.

I wrote stuff that somehow got Quebec wrestlers booked on three continents. I (somewhat inadvertently) helped create a character - El Generico - known around the world. I also wrote stuff that was misquoted to terrifying effect in newspapers across Canada.

I helped book shows with results so mind-blowing that David Meltzer woke his Quebec correspondent at 3AM because he thought the results were a practical joke. I helped book shows, matches and feuds that were voted the best in Quebec not just once but year after year.

It's been an incredibly opportunity and I am proud of every second of it. For the past 9 years I have told anyone who would listen that the IWS wrestlers are as good as any wrestlers in the world. It was easy to be convincing - it happened to be true.

None of it would be possible without Manny, the most frustrating, annoying, aggravating boss that I have ever had. Also possibly the most brilliant. Manny is easily the most underestimated promoter that Quebec has ever had.

He drives me crazy, but when I was sick with diabetic hypoglycemia, half out of mind from blood-sugar intoxication, the guy that I called for help first was Manny. I didn't need to call anyone else.

I am proud to call him my friend and tonight one last time Manny and I and all the other IWS lunatics - we will try and give Montreal the best, craziest, bloodiest, most intense wrestling show that it has ever seen. I am betting we will - once again - succeed.

I hope to see you there.

Last news from the show:

After weeks of skimming through the credentials of talent looking to take part in the Canadian Open to challenge Shayne Hawke for his IWS Canadian Championship, the field HAS been set. As previously announced are the quick and powerful Alex Silva, the spectacular "Speedball" Mike Bailey and a former Canadian Champion in his own right, Kid Kamikaze. The IWS is pleased to announce that the final two spots in this match have been filled by two very qualified competitors.

The first of which is a man who held the Canadian Title on his last night in the company in the Summer of 2008. Challenger number five will be none other than the returning "CANADIAN DYNAMITE" MAX BOYER! Boyer has made it clear to IWS management that he is coming to Club Soda on Saturday night to reclaim the title he lost over two years ago.

The sixth and final challenger in this important Canadian Open match has also been confirmed. Make no mistake, this sixth challenger is nothing short of awesome. IWS has promised surprises for it's Last Show Ever, so to find out who this mystery challenger is, be there Saturday night at Club Soda!

The match has been made official, the Canadian Open will feature Shayne Hawke(c) vs Alex Silva vs "Speedball" Mike Bailey vs Kid Kamikaze vs "Canadian Dynamite" Max Boyer vs A Mystery Challenger in a match held under elimination and scramble rules! And do not forget, the special guest referee for this contest will be Don Paysan!

In addition to this, one cannot forget the spectacular card that has been signed for IWS' Last Show Ever!

- 2.0(Jagged & Shane Matthews) vs The Super Smash Brothers(Player Uno & Stupefied)
Jagged and Shane Matthews laid out the challenge two weeks ago and it HAS been accepted. This two year feud which carries on to this very day and that has spanned over many cities and countries will come to a head this Saturday night as both teams look for the win in what many say might very well be the most important match in this storied feud's history.

- Fred "La Merveille" Lauzon has laid out the challenge for Beef Wellington
The challenge was extended many days ago by Fred "La Merveille" and it has YET to be accepted. If Beef Wellington in fact does accept, we once again ask the question - WHICH Beef Wellington will be on hand at IWS' Last Show Ever? Despite that fact, if this challenge is accepted, no matter which Beef is in action that night, Fred "La Merveille" Lauzon will be in trouble as Beef has never been one to underestimate.

- "MVP" Michael Von Payton vs Twiggy
The talented, yet bitter Ontario veteran, "MVP" Michael Von Payton has made it VERY clear to IWS fans, IWS management and especially to current IWS Tag Team Champion, Twiggy whom he attacked two weeks ago that he is invading Club Soda to ruin the night and spit on the legacy that is the International Wrestling Syndicate. Feeling snubbed through out the years, MVP will have enough gasoline to fuel his fire of hatred but as we know, Twiggy will likely be living on a prayer this Saturday night as he walks in defending the IWS in this grudge match.

- Christopher Bishop vs Lionel Knight
Former IWS superstars return to clash in what will most definitely prove to be a high flying, exciting and action packed contest! This former tag team turned foes will look to bring the fans to their feet as they did five years ago during their debut. This match will NOT be one to miss and is truly one of the special attractions of the evening.

- The Green Phantom defends his IWS Championship vs "Triple X" Sexxxy Eddy vs The Arsenal vs PCP Crazy FN Manny in a FANS BRING THE WEAPONS MATCH!
These four men who had a huge hand in creating the IWS' legacy over the past eleven years their blood, sweat and tears will undoubtedly be looking to put it all one the one more time as they look to be the IWS Champion on this historic night. Former IWS Champion, The Arsenal makes his in ring return after a five year absence and this always dangerous indevidual most likely has not lost a step in his devious ways.

Former, multi time IWS Champion, Sexxxy Eddy will look to add yet another championship to his large resume as he walks into this Fans Bring The Weapons match as an odds on favourite to win.

In what will prove to be his final pro wrestling match, the Montreal cult icon, PCP Crazy FN Manny has his eye set on adding a third IWS Championship to his history as he walks into the ring for this final time.

Last but not least is the man who has the biggest target on his back of the four, current IWS Champion, The Green Phantom. All three challengers will be looking to do as much damage as they can to the title holder but the Hardcore Hero is not one to back down as he is one of the most dangerous men in IWS history who will definitely have a few extreme tricks up his sleeve this Saturday night in order to keep his championship.

In additional to all of this, before bell time, the IWS will be presenting a very special edition of Bloodstream featuring the wrestlers in action that night as well as appearences from "Mr.Wrestling" Kevin Steen and El Generico.

Fans, we can not stress this enough. PLEASE get your tickets now to attend this historic one night engagement. After eleven years, the IWS will be shutting it's doors Saturday night at the beautiful Club Soda in Montreal. To reserve tickets NOW, please PM this account. This is the CANT MISS event of the year in Montreal. Be on hand for the action as well as MANY surprises!

See you at the matches!

Last Update for IWS LAST SHOW EVER (Saturday Club Soda Montreal)

Last Update for IWS LAST SHOW EVER (Saturday Club Soda Montreal)

Some last minute update with my comments:
First and foremost, it is with extreme regret that we must announce that due to circumstances beyond the IWS' control, Pierre Carl Ouellet will not be in action this Saturday night. Despite this unfortunate news, the International Wrestling Syndicate is 100% committed to delivering the fans in attendance that night an action packed evening that will not be forgotten.

The IWS would like to apologize for this inconvenience.

With that being said, the IWS would like to make up to the fans who plan to attend the festivities this Saturday night by signing a brand NEW match! A contest that will feature the return of two superstars of the past. In what will prove to most definitely be an exciting and action packed affair, former IWS Canadian Champion, CHRISTOPHER BISHOP will take on long time foe as well as tag team partner, LIONEL KNIGHT. Both of these men who broke into the IWS in July of 2005 and instantly captured the attention of the fans as high flying and death defying athletes will surely look to bring that same type of atmosphere to the ring at IWS' Last Show Ever!

With only days left until IWS presents it's Last Show Ever, management is looking at ALL applicants who hope to take part in the Canadian Open for the IWS Canadian Title. With that beind said, one special decision has been made. A match with such important implications needs to most definitely be called down the middle. Who better to call a match of such importance than a man who knows what it is like to hold the IWS Canadian Title?

With that being said, the IWS is happy to announce that this Saturday night, former IWS Canadian Champion DON PAYSAN has been appointed as the SPECIAL GUEST REFEREE for the Canadian Open! Don Paysan, who retired from wrestling some months ago made it extremely clear that while he could not be in competitive action at Club Soda, he wanted to be a part of this historical night in some capacity. He will now have the difficult job of officiating the madness that will ensue in the Canadian Open.

In addition to all of this news, lets review what has ALREADY been announced for this Saturday night at Club Soda.

Jagged and Shane Matthews, 2.0 take on long time rivals, Player Uno & Stupefied, The Super Smash Brothers.

Shayne Hawke will defend his IWS Canadian Championship in a Canadian Open featuring challengers, Alex Silva, Kid Kamikaze and "Speedball" Mike Bailey as well as others to be signed.

Fred "La Merveille" Lauzon has issued the challenge to Beef Wellington. The question begs, will Beef Wellington accept?

"MVP" Michael Von Payton looks to invade the Last Show Ever to ruin the night and legacy of the IWS. In his way is the air guitar hero, Twiggy.

In the main event of the evening, The Green Phantom puts his IWS Championship on the line against challengers, The Arsenal, "Triple X" Sexxxy Eddy and PCP Crazy Manny in a FANS BRING THE WEAPONS MATCH.

ALL of this including Franky The Mobster, the return of "Canadian Dynamite" Max Boyer as well as many surprises!
PCO not being there is really unfortunate, but Chris Bishop and Lionel Knight coming is a great surprise.

I remember when we booked Chris Bishop in our Extreme Dream tournament to crown our first Canadian Champion. It was largely as a favour to Ontario's UWA promotion and we had no expectations. Bishop blew away everyone in the building in the most impressive debut match I have ever seen. A month later he was our first Canadian champion.

While Chris Bishop was immediately rated as a great wrestler, Lionel Knight never really got the break that his skills deserve. Lionel's best chance at success in the IWS was a run at the IWS Tag Team Titles with Bishop as his partner. In fact, at one point, Checkmate (Knight & Bishop) had a non-title win against the IWS Tag champions and were poised to win the belts. Unfortunately a drunk driver ran Chris Bishop off the road and Checkmate never got back their lost shot at the belts.

I am not sure if Knight has ever really forgiven Bishop for costing Lionel his best shot at IWS glory.

My phone has been ringing off the hook all day for tickets. If you want a good seat be prepared to line up by Soda early! I hope to see you for one last showcase of IWS insanity.

International Wrestling Syndicate: Last Show Ever!

International Wrestling Syndicate: Last Show Ever!

This Saturday the IWS has its last show ever.

Why our last show? There are a bunch of reasons depending on who you ask. For me, the difficulty of booking venues in Montreal was the last straw. If you have spent anytime in downtown Montreal in the "Quartier de Spectacles de Construction" it should be fairly obvious why booking venues has become so difficult. Our longtime downtown home the Medley shutting down in December 2010 was the writing on the wall.

No one can deny that the IWS leaves an amazing legacy - a ton of things for us to be proud of. The first Canadian promotion with its own Pay-per-View; the first Canadian promotion to put on a show in the ECW Arena; the promotion where the El Generico character was born; the promotion that helped launch Kevin Steen to the world; the Canadian promotion that set and broke records for most light-tubes used in a match; the promotion where Sid Vicious returned to active wrestling from his horrific WCW leg injury; the last indy promotion that Sabu performed in before appearing on RAW in the ECW launch; the promotion where Kevin Nash and Pierre Carl Ouellet resolved the feud that started with a shoot-fight in Montreal while they were both in the WWF... and most importantly, since 2003 every time we did a show downtown is was immediately hailed as the Quebec show of the year.

And this Saturday, we are doing one last balls-to-the-walls go-for-broke downtown Montreal show. Cause if we are going out, we are going out with our heads held high (though possibly a little bit bloodied.)

And in the Main Event, we will be doing the most violent match in Wrestling history, the match that we made infamous in Quebec: FANS BRING THE WEAPONS!

Just to clarify for those that have questions: no guns, no knives, otherwise you bring it and we use it. Be prepared for total insanity!

We have been pushing out news on Facebook on the event.

Here is some of that news with my comments:
The IWS has promised many surprises for it's last show ever and we plan to deliver. So how is this for a starter? Following a two year plus absence from the squared circle, on Saturday, October 9'th live from Club Soda in downtown, Montreal, CANADIAN DYNAMITE is back.

The International Wrestling Syndicate is PROUD to announce the wrestling return of MAX BOYER!

Following the announcement of the the IWS's final show, a block buster signing was made for October 9'th when the call was put into Max Boyer. The man who graced the IWS ring with his brand of mat-based technical wrestling along with his aggressive nature responded simply with "I can't say no to that offer".

After quietly leaving the wrestling industry in May of 2008, the former IWS Canadian Champion returns for this very special engagement at Club Soda. Boyer was quoted as saying "This may be my very last chance to say thank you to the IWS and to the fans."
Max Boyer is awesome. This may be your only chance to see him wrestle ever again. Take advantage.
On October 9'th, a former three time WWE Tag Team Champion, former WCW Hardcore Champion and former IWS Champion will be on hand. A man that has run roughshod over any one that has been placed in his path over the past seven years of his IWS career, most recently including Kevin Nash. A man that can be summed up with one phrase - LOOK AT THE SHAPE.

"PCO" Pierre Carl Ouellet WILL be in action on October 9'th as IWS celebrates it's Last Show Ever at Club Soda. Debuting in August of 2003, PCO wasted no time climbing the ladder on his way to claiming the IWS Championship in January of 2004. In that time, he reestablished himself as a force to be reckoned with in the Quebec wrestling scene. The man notorious for nearly decapitating opponents with his signature "Peece Liner" clothesline will most definitely look to hand out more than a few on October 9'th.
PCO is the most professional wrestler I have ever met. Generous with his time, generous with his experience, he wrestles every match like it will be his last opportunity to please his fans.
In addition to names of the past, many of your favourite current IWS superstars will be appearing in action at IWS' Last Show Ever. Here is a closer look at some of those scheduled to compete on October 9'th at Club Soda.

Firstly, a man who has never ever been at a loss for words, the always entertaining FRED "LA MERVEILLE" LAUZON. After making his debut in November of 2002, Fred "La Merveille" went on to form what many callthe most powerful faction in IWS history, The SLI as well as it's second incarnation, The SLI - USA. Without question, Lauzon will look to bring his....well, lets just say, INTERESTING style of wrestling into play on October 9'th.

Despite being a relative new comer, this man has done more than enough to impress IWS officials to earn his spot on the Last Show Ever. "SPEEDBALL" MIKE BAILEY will without a doubt look to make a final lasting impression on the hardcore soliders in attendance that night with his exciting acrobatic skills.

Last, but certainly not least, the IWS Canadian Title WILL be up for grabs that night as current champion, SHAYNE HAWKE puts the title on the line. Following his debut in March of 2005, Hawke wasted no time climbing the ladder on his way to IWS glory. He reached his most celebrated moment in February of 2009 when he defeated Excess in the culmination of their almost year long feud to capture the IWS Canadian Title.
Fred la Merveille's SLI group was the best gang in IWS history and one of the best in Quebec wrestling history. Speedball Bailey is one of the best young wrestlers in Quebec. Shayne Hawke is one of the most intense wrestlers in the history of the IWS.
In the past four weeks, many of the IWS' past superstars have been announced. Lets not forget the fact that many former IWS title holders have also been announced. When IWS's presents it's Last Show Ever, the following two individuals can boast BOTH of those honors.

The IWS is extremely happy to announce that former IWS Tag Team Champions, PLAYER UNO and STUPEFIED, otherwise known as The Super Smash Brothers WILL be in the house! The exciting duo will undoubtedly look to bring their unique brand of fast paced, high flying and exciting action to the fans in attendance.

But for The Super Smash Brothers, an easy road is anything BUT what is ahead of them. On October 9'th, live from Club Soda, Player Uno & Stupefied will face long time rivals SHANE MATTHEWS and JAGGED, 2.0! These two teams have traded wins within Quebec, Ontario & the United States of America for the better part of the past three years and at IWS' Last Show Ever, this feud will be intensified with this ever important win at stake.
Follow the link to hear from Jagged & Shane Matthews, 2.0. The Niagara Falls natives have some interesting words for thier opponents on October 9'th, The Super Smash Brothers.

http://www.facebook.com/l/f0d0c-C2r4e8vMGtNI0yEIGgk8Q;www.youtube.com/watch?v=xyYZCFWK0vw.
In this special Bloodstream Exclusive, Player Uno and Stupefied respond to 2.0's challenge in interesting fashion. Follow the link to hear their thoughts.

http://www.facebook.com/l/35dc5lwAXvWysTRQ3uBb8YU8xkQ;www.youtube.com/watch?v=HtpLhwsMuws
The Super Smash Brothers and 2.0 are nothing less than two of the best tag teams ever to come out of Quebec.
As previously mentioned last week, IWS Canadian Champion, Shayne Hawke will be in action on October 9'th at Club Soda, and we are happy to announce that the title WILL be on the line that evening. In hopes to deliver the fans in attendance exciting action, the match will not be held under a normal one on one format. At IWS' Last Show Ever, the Canadian Title will be defended in a multi-man CANADIAN OPEN match. For those unfamiliar to the Canadian Open, the rules are simple. The match is held under a scramble format and once one competitor has been pinned, he is then eliminated and must return to the back. As of today, the first two challengers to Hawke's Canadian Title have been selected to take part in the Canadian Open. These two challengers are none other than ALEX SILVA and "SPEEDBALL" MIKE BAILEY. Both of these young athletes will be looking to make their mark on October 9'th as they attempt to take the Canadian Title away from Shayne Hawke.
Alex Silva is a gorilla. He has all the potential in the world and enough anger to fill a dozen anger management classes.
Over the past two years, IWS fans have seen a drastic change in Beef Wellington. In the past, Beef Wellington was a competitor who brought smiles and laughs to the IWS faithful. But in 2008, Beef had a change of heart. He had made it extremely clear that he had developed feelings of disdain for the IWS audience. Citing that they were only at shows to befriend the wrestlers in action and no longer to support a company that he had poured his blood, sweat and tears into.

Despite the change of going from fan favourite to a to a favourite of fans to hate, this change brought Beef Wellington to the top of the IWS mountain. In January of 2009, Beef Wellington defeated "Mr.Wrestling" Kevin Steen to win the IWS Championship(which he held until April of 2010).

In the weeks leading up to IWS' Last Show Ever, rumors have circulated within the company about which Beef Wellington will be present at Club Soda that night. Will it be the Beef that took pride in being one of the most charismatic figures in the IWS' history or will it be the Beef that no longer wanted to entertain the fans and was only out for himself.
There was a period where the only thing that kept the IWS alive was Beef's passion, but others took advantage of Beef's passion and blocked him from even competing for the IWS title. Winning that title became Beef's only goal and it consumed Beef to the point that by the time Beef finally won the title, he had essentially lost his soul. The last time we had a show, the Green Phantom beat Beef for the gold and I wonder if that loss brough Beef back to his senses or further embittered him.
While recently catching up with IWS cameras for his thoughts on IWS' Last Show Ever, Twiggy was blindsided and beaten to the ground. The interesting part in all of this was that he wasn't attacked by anyone currently on the IWS roster. He wasn't even attacked by anyone from the past scheduled to be at Club Soda on October 9'th.

For further explanation, check out this special Bloodstream Exclusive.

http://www.facebook.com/l/ead4aeYjrlScMryya6ld9eL84zw;www.youtube.com/watch?v=UCtca9SRHFU

The Air Guitar Hero was attacked by the well known veteran of the Ontario wrestling scene, "MVP" Michael Von Payton. Michael Von Payton delivered a vicious beating to Twiggy and then proceeded to hijack the IWS cameras. He went into detail about his distain for the IWS, but especially for Twiggy. Citing that it was because of professional wrestlers like Twiggy, that he never got a fair chance to compete in the IWS. MVP then went onto claim he would invade IWS' Last Show Ever to ruin the night of Twiggy, the IWS and the fans in attendance that night.

IWS management looking at this situation very carefully and plan to come to a decision on which actions will be taken come October 9'th.

In addition to all of this, a fourth man has been added to the Canadian Open match for the IWS Canadian Title at IWS' Last Show Ever. A man that is no stranger to holding IWS gold, especially the Canadian Title. Making, what he hopes will be a triumphant return to the IWS on October 9'th will be none other than "The Best Around", KID KAMIKAZE.

After leaving the IWS in 2008, the former champion, Kid Kamikaze is looking to make his mark on IWS' final night as he joins the field of challengers which include "Speedball" Mike Bailey and Alex Silva who look to dethrone Shayne Hawke as IWS Canadian Champion!
MVP is a huge asshole and I say this as a man deeply in love lust with MVP's wife, Misty Haven. Twiggy and MVP tore the house down in a match in Ottawa for the C*4 promotion and I expect them to do nothing less on Saturday.

Kid Kamikaze being in the Canadian Open is great news. He, very quietly, has been the glue that keeps scramble matches from flying into total anarchy for many years in the IWS.
Fred "La Merveille" Lauzon can be summed up in one word. That word would be "Interesting". From his interesting ways of communication. To his interesting sense of humor. His interesting sense of fashion and finally, his interesting style of wrestling. Fred "La Merveille" is simply an interesting man. So it comes to no one's surprise that Fred "La Merveille" has made a very interesting challenge for this Saturday night at IWS' Last Show Ever.

Over the past few days, Fred "La Merveille" has been leaving insane message after insane message DEMANDING that he faces off against an old foe at Club Soda. Fred has claimed to have been embarrassed by this man over the years on more than one occassion. In more than one country to be exact. Fred "La Merveille" Lauzon has demanded to face off against none other than BEEF WELLINGTON.

As we stated last week, many rumors have been circulating about WHICH Beef Wellington will be on hand for IWS' Last Show Ever. If this challenge is accepted, will we see the Beef Wellington who has had his fair share of entertaining matches with Fred "Le Merveille? Or will we see the Beef Wellington of recent years who would look to joyfully gouge out the eyes of Fred? . As stated last week, this all remains to be seen on October 9'th.

In addition to all of this, one cannot forget the blockbuster main event that is set to take place this Saturday night. The current reigning and defending IWS Champion, THE GREEN PHANTOM is set to take on all challengers for his championship that night. Those challengers include "TRIPLE X" SEXXXY EDDY, "THE ONE MAN WAR" THE ARSENAL and in what will be his final match, PCP CRAZY F'N MANNY. The only thing standing in the way of these men and the IWS Championship will be a sea of weapons built to destroy. Built by the fans in attendance that night as this match will be held under FANS BRING THE WEAPONS rules!
The Arsenal is my (distant) cousin and an IWS legend. Sexxxy Eddy is a death-match legend for wrestling in the most dangerous environments wearing nothing but a Speedo. The Green Phantom is the IWS Hardcore Hero for coming up big in matches just like this. And Manny, Manny is a sick, crazed fuck who will be putting his life on the line.

*****

This Saturday, in Montreal will be your last chance to see the IWS live and experience the craziest show in professional wrestling and the promotion that year after year has brought Quebec (and Canada) the best wrestling shows of the year.

We had someone taking photos, but I haven't seen them yet. I know that there were some people at the show taking photos, but I haven't seen any posted anywhere.

You can see me in all my geeky glory (and blues shades) in the last few seconds of the video announcing the Green Phantom as the new IWS Champion.

The International Wrestling Syndicate crowned new champions during an amazingly successful Praise the Violence show. The Green Phantom (in a surprise return) won a Triple Threat Triple Hell Death Match to earn a shot at Beef Wellington's IWS title and despite being thrown through a pane of plate glass by Beef, our Hardcore Hero was able to overcome and pin Beef to become the new IWS Champion.

Let's be honest. 2009 was a bit of a disaster for the IWS. We had one great high point with X, our Tenth Anniversary, and then had a series of incredible bad luck with venues. We were discussing doing shows with no less than five different venues and for one reason or another we were never able to arrange anything. Partly, we were being stubborn because we wanted a venue where we could run a series of shows and build some momentum.
The last straw came when our favourite venue, the Medley shut down at the end of 2009, to be sold and torn down for condos.

So, even though Le Skratch didn't want to give us two dates in a row, we talked them into letting us have the venue on a basis where we could try dropping the price to see if that would increase attendance (and therefore increase beer sales). A lot of people, including people in our locker room, thought it would be our very last show. The documentary crew from Canal D thought they were documenting our death throes.

And then more than 200 people crammed into Le Skratch and we had our best non-Medley show since Breakout 2006.

On a personal note, if you were wondering: How long do you have to work behind-the-scenes at the IWS before you end up in the ring? In my case, I have been involved in the IWS in one form or another since 2001. As ring announcers, we have gone through Iron Mike Paterson (quit), Brian the Guppie (quit), Pat Laprade (busy working on his book), Nic Paterson (fired), Iron Mike Paterson again (quit when Nic was fired) and Giant Tiger (drunk and unconscious - face-down in his own drool) before Manny turned to me, gave me the mike and said, "There's no-one left to do this, don't screw up!"

... And I promptly almost broke my neck coming through the curtain. Fortunately, no one appeared to notice and I managed to get the crowd riled up for the first match... until I was interrupted by Beef Wellington who came to the ring to announce that Nic Paterson's last act as President before getting fired was to allow Beef to weasel out of defending his title in the Triple Threat Triple Hell Death Match.

In mid-explanation, Beef was cut off by the Green Phantom who came to the ring to announce that since the man who had fired him (Nic Paterson) had been fired, by the transitive laws of wrestling math, the Green Phantom had his job back and he wanted Beef's title. Beef suggested that if the Green Phantom wanted to earn a shot that he enter the Triple Threat Triple Hell Death Match and Beef would give the winner an immediate title shot. When the Green Phantom agreed, Beef gave him a low blow and scampered for the hills.

Originally, the Untouchables were scheduled to defend their IWS Tag Team Titles, but with Jimmy Stone off impersonating James Brown, Dan was forced to find a new tag team partner and he turned to a specialist, Professional Tag Team Partner, Scott "Jagged" Parker. By accepting the belt, Jagged became a 3-time IWS Tag Team Champion. Both teams started the match with some dissension - the Untouchables 2.0 had never tagged together and Jagged admitted to harboring a little bit of resentment that Dan had won a match forcing 2.0 to split up. Franky the Mobster and Twiggy, on the other hand, couldn't even agree if the name of their team was the Lean and Clean Machine (Franky's choice) or the Rock 'N Roid Express (Twiggy's preference).

Despite the pre-match dissension, both teams worked well together and had great chemistry with the Untouchables 2.0 having the advantage. Twiggy saved the day for his team by giving Franky an emergency injection. A juiced Franky destroyed Jagged and Dan, hitting Dan Paysan with the Credibility Statement sit-out choke slam allowing Twiggy to hit a top rope splash for the pin, the win and the tag belts for the new Champions, the Rock 'N Roid Express.

Shane Matthews, the Hot Property and self-proclaimed Canada's Greatest Athlete, disgraced the IWS at our last show by attacking Calgary Stampede veteran Kodiak Jack in the crowd and beating the pensioner with his own crutch. At Praise the Violence, Shane introduced his wife, the lovely Olivia. Unfortunately for Shane, his wife received so many compliments from the gallant hardcore soldiers of the IWS at ringside that Shane very nearly lost his match to IWS rookie Sonny Dee. (You may know Sonny better as "That Asian IWS Referee") Shane was able to regain his composure enough to hit Sonny with a huge power bomb before forcing the rook to tap to a Canuckstanian Crab.

Shayne Hawke celebrated his first anniversary as IWS Canadian Champ by beating Stinky the Homeless Guy with a Tomahawke. The scary thing for Shayne's future challengers is that he gets better with every single match, in this case beating a solid, smooth and powerful Stinky.

Sometimes to get the attention of "Le Saigneur de Stiff" EXesS, you have to punch him in the nose. In 2009, Heavy Maxx Fury earned EXesS' respect by beating him twice, once in an MMA match. For this match, EXesS put aside his bullying ways and proved just how dangerous he can be, using Maxx' momentum to turn pin-fall breaks into submissions and submission breaks into pin attempts and eventually into a pin.

We let Uno pick a team of two rookies and Fred la Merveille pick a team of two rookies for Praise the Violence. And then we let the six men beat the ever-loving crap out of each other. The match combined comedy, high-flying, stiff shots and four rookies desperately trying to prove to Fred, to Uno, to IWS management and to the IWS Hardcore Soldiers that they deserved to be there. In the end, Fred fell to a scintillating Shooting-Star Senton from Mike Bailey.

After the Triple Threat Triple Hell Death Match, Eddy was giving me shit for announcing him as "the only man stupid enough to wrestle death matches in a thong." Of course, Eddy could have been giving me shit as the (mind-boggingly) five-time IWS Champion. Unfortunately, and proving my point, Eddy killed his chance to win the match, when, to quote IWS Hardcore Solider Eric Ravenous, "
Eddy did a running over the top Plancha, taking out out his opponents, the ref, at least 3 rows of seats and landing on his head all in one fell swoop."

With Eddy dazed, the Green Phantom was able to use the Thonged One as a weapon against Manny, giving Eddy a Phantasm on to Manny and a pile of thumb-tacks, allowing the Hardcore Hero to pin both men.

Beef Wellington gave the Green Phantom no chance to recover, attacking while I was in the middle of announcing the winner of the match. Beef took quick advantage, throwing the Green Phantom through a pane of glass. Beef set up two chairs back to back in the hopes of crippling Phantom with the E. Coli pile-driver. In a desperate burst of strength, Phantom broke free, crotching Beef on the chairs. Before Beef could recover, Phantom blasted him through the chairs and finished him off with a Phantom Menace to claim the IWS title for the second time.

We are currently negotiating for more dates at Le Skratch and we hope to announce a series of dates soon.

IWS Praise the Violence 2010 - Uno Gets Dirty!

IWS Praise the Violence 2010 - Uno Gets Dirty!

Your 8-Bit HeroI had something else to announce, but I just got off the phone with everyone's favourite 8-Bit Luchadore, Player Uno. The Puroresu Player was super-jazzed because he had picked up some NES cartridge called MicroMachines at a garage sale for a quarter and this was somehow an incredibly big deal. (Honestly I tuned him out after the word Nintendo.)

Point is that finding this cartridge made Uno nostalgic and what he was nostalgic for was coming to IWS and getting the shit kicked out of him and kicking ass straight back. So Uno insisted, nay demanded, that I book him in a match with someone who would give him the fight of his life.

Now the only problem for me is that since we had already arranged the card, I had enough left on the budget for Uno, but for his opponent, I basically only had a left-over ham sandwich to pay him with. So I needed someone who can take monstrous amounts of abuse; a brawler who punches and kicks like a mule; and most importantly a man who would work for a half-eaten ham sandwich.

You know it seems to me that I am very familiar with someone who fits that EXACT description. And he owes me a favour too!

Just a second, let me go check the nearest alley-way...

...

...

...

When feeding Stinky curl your fingers away from the foodFans bring your pocket change (and your half-eaten sandwiches) to Praise the Violence, because Stinky the Homeless Guy has agreed to wrestle Player Uno! And just to make things interesting, and to be honest to get Stinky to come, I had to promise Stinky that I would buy him a meal if he beat Uno at Le Skratch. And as someone who once got trampled by Stinky at a Golden Coral buffet, there is nowhere more dangerous than standing between Stinky and a free meal.

IWS Praise the Violence 2010 - Canadian Title

Canadian Title Match: Fatal (4-Way) Glory

IWS Canadian ChampionIn comparison to Beef Wellington who has to be talked into defending his title, the IWS Canadian Champion, Shayne Hawke, has been itching to defend his title to the point where I had an argument with him when he threatened to defend his title in the street against any challenger. (He claims he was joking; I am not so sure.)

By the time we got to preparing for Praise the Violence, our Raging Red-Head had changed his mind about who he wanted to face three times. Finally, when I forced him to choose between his top three dream opponents, Hawke impulsively declared that he would take on all three opponents in a Fatal Four-Way.

So judge this champion by his hand-picked opposition, three of the finest wrestlers ever to compete in the IWS:

Jagged - The Tag Team Specialist?First, we have former IWS Canadian Champion, Jagged. Most people think of Jagged as a tag team champion, now doomed to fight as a singles competitor after the Untouchables forced 2.0 to break-up by beating them at X, our Tenth Anniversary, but the last time that Jagged was forced to wrestled on his own during Shane Matthews' injury, Jagged promptly won the IWS Canadian title - only losing it when Shane was on the verge of returning from his injury and making Jagged's life miserable back-stage.

And after a very unscientific survey, I have determined that Jagged was single-handedly responsible for all of 2.0's in-ring success while "Big Bag of Wind" Shane Matthews is an annoying pissant who should stop trying to read the IWS press releases over my shoulder while I am typing them.

Where was I... ?

He would rather beat the SHIT out of you than shake your hand. Our second competitor is the man that Shayne Hawke beat for the IWS Canadian Title in the first place, Quebec's most bulliest bully, EXesS. When EXesS is in a good mood, he is one of the most dangerous submission wrestlers in Canada. When he's pissed off, well when he's pissed off EXesS is the most dangerous man ever to set foot in the IWS ring. And no one grates on EXesS's nerves more than "Le Maudit Roux" Shayne Hawke.

Having won the IWS Title, the IWS Tag Team Title and the IWS Canadian Title, EXesS is the first and only man ever to win the IWS Triple Crown.

If I have to beat the SHIT out of you to get you to shake my hand, that's a sacrifice that I am willing to make. Our last contestant is the only one in the match who has never won the IWS Canadian Title, but if he wins this match he will match EXesS' accomplishment and become the second ever IWS Triple Crown Champion. He was the second man ever to win the IWS Title and one of the first two men to win the IWS Tag Team Title in our first Extreme Dream tournament. One of the smoothest wrestler that I have ever seen and a man who came back to wrestling after a five year's absence showing less rust than the Bentley in Doomsday. He's not my brother, He's Heavy Maxx Fury!

Shayne has the belt and aims to keep it. Jagged needs the belt to prove once again that he is not just a tag-team specialist. Maxx needs the belt to cement his legacy in the IWS and become a Triple Crown Champion. And ExesS? I would tell you that EXesS needs the belt because he hates Shayne Hawke, but the truth is that EXesS hates everybody and lives to make people miserable. The best way to make all three of his opponents miserable is to win the belt and step on their necks while he does it.

4 Years of THIS?!
Inter Species Wrestling 4th Year Anniversary.

We are living in the strangest, most unprecedented week in Quebec Wrestling history. We started the week with a beginning that no one saw coming and we will end the week with an ending that no one ever expected to see.

On one hand, tomorrow during the International Wrestling Syndicate show Hardcore Heat, the Green Phantom and PCP Crazy F'N Manny will face each other in a Burning Tables Match, and the loser of the match will be FIRED in every sense of the world.

So at IWS, we are about to experience an ending as one of the Hardcore originals will be banished from the promotion. Meanwhile over at Inter Species Wrestling, Sunday saw a new and completely unexpected beginning during the ISW 4th Year Anniversary as Giant Tiger became the ISW Champion, beating Player Uno in an impromptu match to end the show.

4 Years of THIS?!
Detailed Results

Here is how the Inter Species Wrestling 4th Year Anniversary show started for me: I was helping the ISW big-breasted merchandise girl at the gimmick table when the ISW music went off and I realized that I was in completely the wrong place to start the show. I White-Rabbited around the crowd heading for the stage, until I ran up the stairs leading to the stage and banged my head off the metal ceiling of the staircase.

My head was still ringing when Giant Tiger hit the ring to call out Mike Rotch for his match. When Rotchy refused to come out, Giant Tiger threatened Rotchy promising to ruin Inter Species Wrestling. After he left, I introduced our ring announcer and left to find some aspirin.

4 Years of THIS?! began with a match between the world's fastest zombie, Zombiefied and Michael Von Payton. M.V.P. started the match pretending to be Zombiefied's friend, shaking his hand, slapping him and then trying the same trick thirty seconds later. Unfortunately for M.V.P. while Zombiefied may have lost some brain function, he is not a complete idiot and Zombified does have a long memory. While M.V.P. was able to use a series of back-breakers to slow Zombiefied down, it wasn't enough to stop him from going up top to flip his way to victory.

I have been waiting in dread for the sexual harassment paperwork from Addy Star after this match. Steve may be even more sexually aggressive than Sexxxy Eddy. A desperate Addy was forced to deliver more low blows than a Ric Flair "Dirtiest Player of the Game" high-light reel. Disturbingly, after losing the match to Sodomy, Addy did an about-turn and started chasing after Steve.

Before their planned three-way dance started, Viking and Sexxxy Eddy sat in the crowd drinking beer while Beef Wellington got on the mike and denounced ISW management for allowing wrestlers to get drunk before and during a match. Beef said that he had only agreed to do the match because he was paid in advance, but Beef refused to work in such unsafe conditions and quit not just the match but the whole promotion.

One quick historical point: ISW's origins lie in Beef's famous match against A Bear during the IWS Fifth Anniversary show V in June 2004. ISW would not exist without Beef Wellington.

Without Beef Wellington, the three-way dance became an all-out brawl between Viking and Sexxxy Eddy. They killed themselves through the crowd with Viking having the edge outside teh ring, but Eddy regaining control every time they got back into the ring. In a move that could basically be described as a raised middle finger to ISW on behalf of his fellow member of the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Sexxxy Eddy secured his victory against Viking by stealing Steve's Sodomy submission which we had seen just moments before. A furious Viking retaliated by hitting Eddy with a cock-slam after Eddy's submission victory was announced.

Stinky and Flip damn near killed each other in the World's first ever Fans Bring the Lego Death Weapons Match. It was by no means an easy victory for Stinky: he had to overcome Flip's allies bovine overlords, Moostafa and Moohammad. Having done that, Stinky had to recover from a series of Lego-assisted curb stomps. The tide turned when Stinky pulled out a cardboard D-Lo Brown vest covered in Lego and Stinky sealed the deal with two massive Stink Power-Bombs into a huge pile of Lego.

After the match, Stinky tried to shake Flip's hand and his former best friend appeared to want to take Stinky up on the offer, but Moohammad yanked Flip away with his leash.

After the intermission, James Stone tried to win the ISW Other match in a sequel to his match against Moohammad the Terrorist Cow from our Vans/Warped show. In their first match, James went up top and paid the price when Moohammad pushed from off the top head-first into the crowd (and the guard-rails between the crowd and the ring.) In a reprise, James dominated the match but lost when he went up top, only for Moostafa to unexpectedly save his brother by tossing Moohammad the ISW Other belt which James hit head-first.

Moostafa sometimes seems to be living in his own world. He was in a surprisingly good mood on Sunday despite not making this year's roster of Dancing With the Stars having been rejectred for being neither a star nor human. During his brother's match, Moostafa was having his own match with an imaginary opponent leading to an imaginary victory for the ISW Other belt. Flushed with that victory and with having done the right thing for once and saving his brother's belt, Moostafa issued an open challenge... answered by Maximus Primal who destroyed the Dancing Cow in twenty seconds. Maximus Primal then announced that he was gunning for the ISW Other Title which he would win for himself and the fans.

Izzy Deadyet ran his winning streak up to five victories defeating El Hijo del Bamboo by Shining Wizard with That Zombie Move. In a nauseating twist, Izzy kept regaining the advantage in teh match by ripping his own ear off and stuffing it down either the ref's throat or the Puroresu Panda's throat. Fortunately, Izzy contented himself with merely beating Bamboo Jr. rather than also devouring the Panda's brains as Izzy did with Dan Paysan and Pinkie Sanchez during his current reign of terror.

Has Twiggy ever had a bad match in ISW? M.V.P. may have the initials, but Twiggy is Inter-Species Wrestling's Most Valuable Wrestler. Here is why I love Twiggy as a wrestler: There is no way in hell that Twiggy should ever be able to beat Kevin Steen, but Twiggy had the crowd convinced, had himself convinced and almost had Kevin Steen convinced that Twiggy's victory was inevitable.

In one of the many great moments of the match, Steen (who had previously stolen and worn Twiggy's bandanna) tried to put on Twiggy's leather jacket, got trapped with it halfway on. After Steen finally got loose, he gave the jacket an elbow drop and kicked it into the crowd. The closest Twiggy came to pinning Steen came after Twiggy ambushed Steen while he was kicking the leather jacket out of the ring.

The key word is almost. When Steen realized that he was in danger of losing the match, he found that extra gear that makes him one of Canada's best and finished Twiggy off. With the victory secure, Kevin Steen praised Twiggy just long enough for Twiggy to drop his guard, at which point Kevin - like a total dick - stomped Twiggy down.

It seems hard to believe that Player Uno and El Generico have never faced one another in a singles match. Both men are very similar in style and in their appeal to the fans with Generico being faster and Uno having a bit more power. With both men being fan favourites, the crowd simply cheered the good wrestling and there was a lot to celebrate. Uno had the tiniest sliver of an advantage that he exploited to win the match, giving the 8-Bit luchadore successful title defences against Kevin Steen, Twiggy, Hallowicked, Viking, El Generico and M.V.P.

But Uno had no time to celebrate his hard-won victory. Giant Tiger came out of nowhere to whack Uno with his walking stick and waving his open contract at the referee, demanded that a title match start right away. While Uno was woozy from the cane shot, he refused to allow himself to be pinned quickly and easily. Uno rallied to attack Giant Tiger, but before he could pin the Gingerbread Man, Sexxxy Eddy hit the ring and clobbered Uno with the title belt. One no-hands pedigree later and the unthinkable had happened: Giant Tiger had gone from joke to evil genius and ISW champion and the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen have taken control of Inter Species Wrestling.

Eddy and GY attacked Uno after the bell. Stunned by what happened, I foolishly got into the ring, only to be attacked in-turn by Giant Tiger, suffering a mild concussion when either Tiger or Eddy sat on my head still ringing from the whack that I gave myself earlier in the show.

In a not-an-apology phone call this week, Giant Tiger explained to me that he had attacked me, partly because I got in-between him and Uno, and partly because he was worried that I "was about to Jack Tunney the belt away!" Truthfully, I would like nothing better. Sadly, Giant Tiger had a legal contract to wrestle anyone he wanted at any time, for the stakes of his choice and under the rules of his choice. Making matters worse, Uno had a long-standing policy that he would accept any challenge. Under those circumstances, I have no choice but to recognize Giant Tiger as the legal Inter Species Wrestling Champion.

God help us all.
