Hardcore Heat: Strong Style Typings - 6 Man all F(r)ed Up

Hardcore Heat: Strong Style Typings

6 Man all F(r)ed Up!

Fred l'EgoI was supposed to be announcing the 5th entrant in the 6 man match and then the 6th entrant was going to be a surprise. The 5th entrant was scheduled to be WonderFred, looking to reestablish himself in the IWS, and needing a win to do so, but then Fred got his own idea.

If I was being a cynic, I would tell you that Fred was concerned that in a six man match he would have to share the spotlight with five other wrestlers and splitting the crowd's attention that many ways didn't give Fred enough glory, but actually that's not being cynical that's being factual.

Fred told us that he is the biggest star in Quebec and that there is no way that he could prove that in a six man match - that he needed to be the center of attention in order to prove to the world what was so obvious to him.

In order to satisfy Fred's demands, we have decided to change the Six-Man Scramble match into a Fatal Four-Way Match and give Fred the singles match that he is demanding. We are currently trying to find Fred the world-class opponent that he so clearly deserves.

Canada's Greatest Athlete

Nic Paterson has gotten it into his head that I inadvertently buried this announcement earlier. Completely untrue. I deliberately buried it.

But I did say that I would make the announcement again. Hopefully announcing the Fred bit first will bury this again. Nic is really excited that he has signed to the IWS roster - Canada's Greatest Athlete!

I guess Nic is hoping that people will go nuts trying to guess who this amazing athlete could possibly be.

...

...

...

All right. I will start: Is it Iron Mike Sharpe? He used to call himself Canada's Greatest Athlete.

Hardcore Heat: Strong Style Typings - Burning Tables!

Hardcore Heat: Strong Style Typings

Burning Tables Match

The Sultan of SmugDoes anyone remember that the Green Phantom walloped Nic Paterson with a chair at our Tenth Anniversary? Unfortunately, I haven't been able to forget because every day Nic comes into the office and in-between quizzing me for an hour about what I am doing, making it absolutely impossible for me to actually do any work at all, he bitches and moans about his neck and head.

Call me a heartless bastard if you like, but despite the ridiculous neck protector he has been wearing, I know Nic has been malingering and exaggerating. Every time a pretty young filmmaker comes into my office when Nic is there, the neck protector mysteriously vanishes while Mr. Thinks He is So Suave tries to put the moves on her.

I am still PISSED at Manny for putting Nic in charge when I was right there.I wasn't going to talk about it, figured it was better to ignore Paterson than to encourage him by giving him some ink, but then Nic made the mistake of bitching about his neck when Manny was in the office and Manny blew up at him in a furious ten minute tirade - really I should have been keeping notes. I know that most people think of Manny as being a sub-literate goon, but he tore a verbal strip off Paterson in at least four different languages without repeating himself once. I had no ideas that there were so many ways to call someone a whiny, spineless, hypocritical pussy.

And as entertaining as that was to watch and listen to, I wouldn't have mentioned that either EXCEPT that when Manny stopped ranting to catch his breath, Nic reminded Manny of two things: First that Manny had signed control of the IWS over to Paterson and Second that Manny had also been bitching that he didn't have a match for Hardcore Heat signed yet.

Your Hardcore Hero"I put you against the Green Phantom at X in a death match because I was hoping that you two maniacs would kill each other and solve two of my problems at once. Since you both survived by some miracle, I am going to punish you in the best way that I know how. You want a match at Hardcore Heat, Manny? Fine. You can face the Green Phantom again. Only this time, it will be in an old-fashioned IWS Burning Tables match. And the loser of the match gets FIRED! I don't even care who loses, because either way, I win!"

Burning Tables match. PCP Crazy F'N Manny vs. the Green Phantom. Loser gets FIRED! In every sense of the word. And the IWS will never be the same again.

Hardcore Heat: Strong Style Typings - 6 Man Match II

Hardcore Heat: Strong Style Typings

Six Man Scramble Match

Let me be clear. This is not a ladder match. Which is to say that you won't see guys hitting each other with a great big yellow ladder, but this is a match in which guys will be climbing a ladder - an invisible ladder - trying to improve their careers; trying to lay their claim for a future title shot; trying to make their mark in the International Wrestling Syndicate.

The first two entrants.

Entrant#1: The Rookie - Urban Miles

Entrant#2: The Bouncing Brawler - Mike "Speedball" Bailey

And now the next two entrants:

The Air Guitar HeroEntrant#3: Twiggy
While Urban Miles is wrestling in his first IWS match and Speedball is an IWS rookie, Twiggy is an IWS veteran, having made his IWS debut all the way back in Violent Valentine February 2004.

The IWS Air Guitar Hero has had success in the IWS, but maily in tag teams. As a singles wrestler, he hasn't won a match since September 2008 (or as Twiggy puts it he "Hasn't tatsed victory in nearly a year.")

The problem for Twiggy is that with a couple of shining exceptions, his career in the IWS has been defined by his losses, his almost victories - almost beating Manny for the IWS title, almost beating Shayne Hawke for the IWS Canadian Title. Twiggy wants to redefine his career by winning an IWS singles title. To do that he needs to start a series of victories.

Beginning with winning this match.

The Tag Team SpecialistEntrant#4: Jagged
The perception is that Jagged is a - no THE Tag Team Specialist, the guy that made 2.0 tick, but a guy that works best with someone watching his back. Of course, that perception would imply that Jagged should be looking for a new tag team now that 2.0 has been forced to split in the IWS.

The problem with that description of Jagged is that it forgets that when Shane Matthews was injured for six months, Jagged had enormous and immediate success as a singles wrestler, winning the IWS Canadian title and earning a singles tryout match with Ring of Honor. Jagged has a great opportunity to start his second singles run with the same success that he had in his last singles run.

All he has to do is win this match.

The first two entrants.

Urban Sharp Dressed Man MilesEntrant#1: Urban Miles
In his IWS debut, Urban Miles will be looking to make a case that he should be on the IWS roster full-time. Urban has been creating a lot of buzz for himself as a charismatic high-flyer. Of course, Urban may find that an IWS crowd may be slightly harder to impress than a crowd of twelve-year old girls.

One quick way on to the IWS roster?

Win this match.

The Bouncing Brawler - Mike Speedball NaileyEntrant#2: Mike "Speedball" Bailey
If Urban Miles is looking for a recent blueprint how to impress an IWS debut, he need look no further than the IWS' leading rookie, the bouncing brawler Mike "Speedball" Bailey. He has gained a following by his agility, his speed and his complete lack of fear.

As an IWS broom-boy. Bailey dreamed of being a member of the IWS roster. Having achieved his dream however, Mike Bailey has discovered that he needs something more. Just as the IWS Hardcore Soldiers became impressed by Speedball for his willingness to go toe-to-toe with anyone on the IWS roster, I have become impressed with him for his ambition. Being in great matches is not good enough for Mike Bailey - being in great matches as an IWS Champion would be better.

The first step to becoming an IWS champion? Earning a title shot.

The first step to becoming a Number One Contender?

Winning this match.
