The International Wrestling Syndicate returns to Le Skratch on Saturday, March 6th and to mark our first show of '10 all tickets for Praise the Violence will be $10!
The main event will be a Triple Threat Triple Death Match for the IWS Title pitting the IWS Champion Beef Wellington against PCP Crazy F'N Manny and the Triple X SeXXX XXXpress SeXXXy Eddy. The three men will have to survive not only each other but thumbtacks, barbed-wire and panes of glass.
Let's be clear about the stakes. Beef only agreed to this match in the first place because it gave him a chance to destroy Manny. The biggest level of competition between Beef and Manny may be who despises who more. Beef considers Manny to be an "incompetent moron who killed what few brain cells he had years ago" while Manny considers Beef's reign as IWS Champion to be a mockery of everything that IWS stands for by a coward who always takes the easy way out to win matches whether that is winning a Fans Bring the Weapons match with Ether or beating Manny with a Sleeper or beating Franky the Mobster with ten consecutive low blows. (I would quote Manny only it would be 99% "Fuck")
The Wild Card is SeXXXy Eddy. At one point, he was Beef's henchman, sublimating his own needs to help Beef win the title. But during X, our Tenth Anniversary in a Fatal Four-Way Eddy proved that he was prepared to attack Beef to get back the IWS Title. On the other hand, Eddy hates Manny just about as much as Beef does, after years of Manny taking Eddy for granted and selfishly taking advantage of Eddy at every opportunity. (At least to hear Eddy tell it.) So the question is, how badly does Eddy want to win the IWS Title for a mind-boggling fifth time? And what will he do to try and win it?
IWS Praise the Violence 2010
As anyone who knows anything about Quebec wrestling backstage gossip knows, the IWS has been having a run of really bad luck. We had at least three shows ready to announce before venues crapped out on us. Our favourite venue The Medley was sold to someone who plans to tear it down and build condos. We ended up shit-canning our president Nic Paterson and replacing him with an executive committee to try and get things back on track. In fact, our first piece of good luck happened when the venue for Praise the Violence, Le Skratch caught on fire.
Maybe I should explain...
Le Skratch caught on fire, and if you went by there today it looks like shit on a plastic stick with half of the bar buried behind sheets of plastic as workers scurry to dry and repair the damage. Fortunately for us, the area where we do wrestling was completely untouched. By March 6th, Le Skratch should be completely fixed. But even if it isn't, Praise teh Violence will still happen. If we can't bring people in the front door, we will bring them in the back.
More news of matches and wrestler promos will be coming out over the next little while.
And I do have a special for IWS Hardcore Soldiers. A 20 and 10 for 2010, if you like. All tickets for Praise the Violence are $10, in advance or at the door, but for $20 you can get an IWS DVD and a ticket for Praise the Violence for $20.
I should also mention that if you love the idea of seeing the IWS for only $10 than come and bring your friends. If we get a big enough crowd at $10, we will be able to keep the ticket prices at that level.
